Beat the crowds and join members of the Green Mountain Audubon Society on an early morning walk at Colchester Pond.
Colchester Pond provides the opportunity to view a variety of bird species that often can be found in aquatic, grassland, hedgerow and forest habitats. Scheduled for a weekday with an early morning start, this excursion has the potential to offer up a wide diversity of species without dodging the weekend crowds. Trails are uneven, include sections with boardwalk, and occoasional muddy or wet spots. There are no rest room facilities at the site.
Please note: Participants are advised to come dressed in a manner that reduces the likelihood of acquiring ticks as they travel through long grasses. Long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemically treated to repel ticks are recommended. (Limited to 15 participants)
