Already this fall, many finch species have left their core breeding ranges in Canada and begun invading the forests and suburbs of the northeastern United States in search of food. From evening and pine grosbeaks, to red and white-winged crossbills, to large flocks of common redpolls, all have been observed in Vermont over the past few weeks and most are expected to stick around all winter! In this presentation, Matt Young will discuss several of these finch species and dive into the distribution and ecology of different crossbill and evening grosbeak flight calls. Matt will also give us insider information on how and where to find these birds given the season.

It should be a finch fact filled evening and we hope to see you there!
